To Whom It May Concern

I thought to myself "Is this real or a dream?"
The wonder at such a moment "can it be? then why me?"
Amazing how deceptive we are to ourselves
Just to have a companion to love and grow old
The common conception better to have loved then have not
Is a lie told by people given up on their shot
I faintly remember regurgitating that theme
But regretfully stated renouncing the lie as I glean
This sadness and sorrow is something that surely will pass
But it feels like I'm dying like the end's come at last
Victory is sweet but defeat has me stricken
A funeral for innocence loss of hope, no conviction
Hopelessness rots inside as the day's promises leave
Left with nothing but pain and the shame well received...

Very thought-provoking with some stark images, Ryan. It is so true that "hopelessness rots." Thanks for sharing.

Most certainly, brother. We live in a beautiful yet dark world where we share our plights with either shame or acceptance. Either way we're cast into thecosmic winds of time without a rhyme or a reason. Just left to pick up the pieces of a fragmented existence that can only be interpreted vicariously. Reason being is that Man has too much pride and that pride blinds him and binds him. To better years and the love we share with those we cherish!

Hi, Ryan. I'm in full agreement with your thoughts in this write. Pffttt to those who believe "It's better to have loved and lost...."

FYI on a side note speaking of liberty. You don't have to be a micro biologist to know that Covid is a test of humanity's subservience. I will not and haven't as of late worn their "veil of conformity". They talk about kindergarten science and try to act like they're the orators of truth when they're really just condescending morons with a chip on their shoulder. It's a child's mentality. "Don't forget to wash your hands..."pffft middle fingers up!

Furthermore, pride usually takes the stage. People are inherently judgemental so naturally they assume they'll be judged by others for what they perceive as weakness. I see vulnerability as a strength beyond any conviction. It's faith and hope. But society is jealous of those comfortable in their own shoes and abhorres honesty and someone genuinely forthcoming. Be yourself, screw the cowardly sycophants. They'll follow orders and never have an identity or know what true freedom is.

Had to change it up to my own vernacular to fit the poem and because I try to stay away from any paraphrasing. It ends up coming off cavalier and Trivial... like a cereal box or hallmark card. I'd rather be Noone then known for being disingenuous. Anyway thank you for your kind words! -Ryan
