To Thy Self Be True
I hear the words you're saying,
We've been friends for so long,
But the way you treat me,
There's something terribly wrong.
You try to control my actions,
My thoughts aren't my own,
If we differ in opinions,
You walk, leaving me alone.
A friend should be supportive,
In times of smiles and tears,
To respect each other's feelings,
That fashions friendships for years.
Yes, I hear the words you're saying,
And we been together for a long time,
But if I can't be my own person,
A new friend ill chose to find.
