Note-
Death is darkest of painful tragedies
Its sting, births misery like no other
It is a black curse without remedies
Epic sorrows when it strikes one's mother...

To Those That Have Walked Dark Halls Of Deepest Grief Truth of deep grief and its healing powers; Are not in the anguish pains that invade, With the blackest of black in midnight hours Dancing dark corridors in Hell's parade. It rests in the sweet blessings of gloom's end That relief, when one sees beyond deep dark- Finding that Hope brings Light, as a true friend Slaying loss, once felt so savage and stark, Grief cuts down long sad shadows if allowed For mourning births seeds, of Life thus renewed By tilling hopeful ground with new love plowed Thus finding gifts that kindness has accrued. Such one may embrace, path to better Life: Where happiness ends pain and bitter strife. Robert J. Lindley, Sonnet, ( The Healing Power Of Grief Survived ) Note- Death is darkest of painful tragedies Its sting, births misery like no other It is a black curse without remedies Epic sorrows when it strikes one's mother...

Hi Robert, a sad write that also shows the glory of light. At the end of that dark tunnel, the brightest light of love can shine. Your words always shine with wisdom and grace my friend. I begin to remember my darkest day. Still, I did see the light so quickly. The suffering of lthis life was over, only peace and joy awaited. I love the content my friend. You stir the emotions with ease. Have a wonderful Wednesday. Your friend always....Mike.

Oh your stirring words ring with powerful truth, wisdom and compassion for there is Light at the end of the dark grief-stricken tunnel, if we choose to see its sweet blessings, and mourning helps us to be able to live life in the Light once more. A deep emotional poem, my dear friend. Your brilliant poem shines like a beautiful beacon of hope in grief's darkness. Superb poetry, Robert! Warmest wishes always.. ~Susan

You captured the throes of grief so aptly in this well written poem, Robert. Though I have yet to lose my mother, I lost my father this year. Yet through my grief I find relief in the fact that he is in heaven with the Lord now. Thank you also for visiting my poetry today! God bless! :)
