To the Wood

Now pour on to the wood The things before never could Get it down so as not to forget All the objects that got soaking wet Wipe away the rust and make it shine For it is there underneath it is it's prime Dig deeper and deeper until they are found The toughts that were so tightly bound No shame for the help so desperately sought Happiness instead that He has brought And through these eyes once again I see Because the veil from within has been lifted from me And sleep will become no easy task For solitude is no longer the forsaken mask That you and I wear for one another With purpose this will no longer be a bother This I cannot help but share It is within us all the capacity to care Now pour on...to the wood The things before never could Copyright © by Scarlett Anderson

"The toughts/thoughts that were so tightly bound"...it seems profound...yet...I am embaressed to say I am not sure what "the wood" is if it is a pencil? it is not clear? perhaps a bit more "spit polish" on the verse? Light & Love Poetess!

You really inspire writers to pursue their goals in this poem, Scarlett. Some folks find writing easy; words just flow to them. Others (and I'm among them) often have to "dig deeper and deeper" until the right words are found. Excellent poem! Love, Carolyn
