To the Wonder
The silky blue sky augurs a clear day
Agile birds playfully gliding in the air
Willowy weeds spread across the way
Cool breeze circling as it blew my hair
Picturesque nature at its calmest
In my numbness, I felt its whisper
Meaning to tease, please and impress
Seeing yet feeling nothing, I wandered
A walk away from the usual place
To fill that emptiness in my chest
Something at the end of the maze
A doorway to venture on a quest
At the threshold I mulled which way to go
To the right where the sun glows
Or to the left where the wind blows
Wondering what both stand to show
Westward through an endless narrow space
Walled by tall plants dense with leaves
Looking up, the sun intense in its glare
Anxious yet gritty to conquer the weaves
This endless journey has frayed my nerves
Was I was wrong in the choices I’d made
Taking the East might be what I deserve
Halfway through I heard a sweet serenade
An engaging tune, lingering and inviting
Offering calmness amid the chaos I was in
Leading my way to where I should be going
Giving the chance to see what lies therein
Glancing back, a choice is still there
The freedom to choose what I prefer
Go back or take a chance to nowhere
Something awaits me there somewhere
With no sun I stumbled in the dark
Emerging ahead is a flicker of light
A ray of hope, a chance to embark
Towards a new life, a beckoning sight
Beyond the tangle’s end, a clearer view
Doubted the choice but took a chance
What I saw is unique, special and new
A time for change, a fresh beat to dance!
