To the Jewel of Maine
I've tried to write you 4 times,
My computer seems to object,
I've written a poem to thank you,
For your card...I'll try one last time;
The joy of Christmas you wished me,
Means more than you could know,
I'm lucky if I get 3 cards each year,
I feel forgotten, and you should know,
It made me happy,
I hope Santa brings you all you want,
I've already got mine, thanks to you
I have near no family, but all my pals at Soup,
I cry not, I have my memories,
Merely the enemy of age,
Who took all those I love
I no longer feel I must rant and rage,
To those wiser powers up above.
