To the Contest Losers - a Been
Been is pretty special
it really means you can.
Almost really better,
than Was, or Is, or When!
Been is almost priceless,
like jewels stored in a Then.
Been is just the nicest,
You'll always have a friend!
If you keep trying to Is,
by Golly, Gee, Oh Whiz!
You really might become a Was,
no one will think you ever Does!
If you just be a constant Are,
you might think that you're the star!
I guess I'd rather be a Been,
that's when I think I'll know . . . I AM!
