To Taste, Trenchant Flavor of Her Soft Kiss

To Taste, Trenchant Flavor Of Her Soft Kiss To taste, trenchant flavor of her soft kiss, Under night skies' munificent moon rays, Arcadian smile, touch I now so miss, Her guileless wit, stirring soul to this day. To touch yet again, lush lips so divine, Feel her deep warmth that this soul still invades, To remember waking, to dawns so fine, Absent embarrassing human charades. To hold her heart, as if sweet Life it gave, Its beauty, her amatory appeals, Gifts of Love's Truth, did this wayward soul save, From sclerotic heart, that too oft Life kills. To think ruminative thoughts and agree. Such an angel was far too good for me. Robert J. Lindley, 12-08-2019 Romanticism, ( A Blessing, Lost In Folly Of My Wayward Youth )

Oh, lovely sonnet. A true taste of old school romanticism as it is. P.S.: Here I am. Long time no see. I'm going to get myself a looong drink and enjoy a real poetry under night skies' munificent moon rays.

Thank you my friend. So great to see you are back! Yes a bit of old school romanticism. Poetry that comes from heart, loss and real life should be cast forth as a teaching to youths of today, as a warning methinks- not that many will heed such.

Thank you my friend. A treasure such as is that memory. A stark reminder of youth and its great mistakes. Yet truth is we grow by the mistakes we make, if we are aware enough to use the hard lessons thus learned. God bless..

Nicely penned Robert. You sound like me through my younger days. I was wild and crazy. I cant believe the stuff I did. Thanks for sharing this

Thank you my friend. I think we in our youth thought taking as much as one could get was the path to follow. And luckily we have survived to look back and see truly how we behaved. As poets writing about it may serve as warning to youths of today. Thank you for commenting. God bless..

Ah, Robert. Lips like the sweet ones of which you write should never be forgotten. In your younger days you were the guy standing before the ice cream flavors and unable to decide which you wanted to taste so you had them all. We should always look back at life as a learning experience. I can see that life has taught you many lessons. A wonderfully poignant glimpse into your past. Thank you for the window.

Thank you my friend. So true such lips, such kind and immense beauty can not be forgotten. You nailed it, I was one of those that thought the wondrous world was a feast and tried to sample all the romantic flavors it offered. Such is one of the great follies of youth! Only later in life, do we see our some of youth, as it really was. Life has taught me many , very hard lessons! God bless..

Thank you my friend. I feel that I was just too wild for any lady to tame back then. I was like a wild mustang, and set to roam the plains. I did try but even in my trying I knew only time and many aching pains would slow me down to eventually cure me. Life has been for me anything but dull and boring... God bless.....
