To Stir Men's Souls

Oh, for a poem to stir men's souls
to remove pseudo-shackles, to set new goals

Oh, for a lyric to move folks to cheer
to cast off aspersions, to eliminate fear

Oh, for a rhyme enabling spirits to climb
to soar to new heights - airy, sublime

Oh, for an idea to shine and shimmer
to pass muster, yet glow on and glimmer

Oh, for an age that rewards the courageous
   ~ understands that surrender's contagious

You missed this one, perhaps to make it seem better three weeks later than it actually is... Really appreciate the FAVE, Debra. Here's to whatever moves mankind to make positive strides. Smiles, Gershon

I think you have done it. It will be used in classrooms to inspire youth to write more poetry. Thanks for the visits to my page. Sara

Eloquent. Urging those to rise to the occasion, face challenges and never give up. A lot of power behind this piece G.W.!...ab

Good poem; good writing, gw. We all yearn for these things, methinks.

Yes, indeed. Please continue yearning. I'm trying to take the 'y' off the front of that word. ~ Shekels from Heaven
