To Run

Inside there is an overwhelming need to run
To take to the meadows edge
Just a moment of peace and purity
To hear only the whispers of nature around
The voice of silence to cover the cries
I show no fear within every tear
A painted smile that hides the denial

Words cut so deep even when you sleep
Love an emotion that is cruel sometimes
War that is upon every closed door
The secret of feelings undiscovered
Time holds the keys to many of gates
Some passing fate some filled with hate
Of broken hearts once to late

To take myself into a world of the unknown
The beauty of not knowing
The dream of the unreal flows
To sit in the midnight air surrounded by stars
The moon to catch my eye and watch my mind
To feel free to be the true spirit in me
Just to be the timeless woman within the watching hour
