To My Mother
You were my ocean
Who waved away all my burdens,
That’s because you’re strong, mother.
You were my wind
That cleansed me from all dirt,
That’s because you’re pure, mother.
You were my moon
That lightened all my darkness,
That’s because you’re aware, mother.
Now I can swim in the ocean
Without drowning.
I can fly with the wind
Without being carried away.
I can travel the night
Without fearing darkness.
The air that I breathe
Is the love of your seed
Strong and free
Because you believed in me.
