To My Mentor: On His Day
Come is this day
November the tenth of
every year
When Kehinde
remembers joinin the
fray
Of this world so full of
things fearful and dear.
Going down memory lane
One remembers that he
cried
To those around who
laughed at his eforts so
vain
And they welcomed him
with hands tested and
tried.
Now when he
remembers dat day
He is always happy and
gay
Cos the sadness of
yesteryears are gone
Exactly like the bullets
from a gun.
As you celebrate your
day this year
I wish you a day as
white as snow
Which is as sweet as
honey and soft as pear
And also free from
stress and sorrow.
The years you have
ahead
Will be full of joy and
success
That tail you will not be
but always the head
And finally you get
every want in excess.
Granted are all these
by God Almighty
Who is capable of
things low and mighty!
