To My Late Brother
To my late brother,
your suicide ripped my heart
from its moorings.
Our baby boy of the 1960's,
you must of been so lonely,
selling your cabin on
the wooded acres with a brook
behind it.
Leaving your home state to join
a woman who dismissed you.
The romantic rejection you suffered
would of passed.
Your blue eyes could of smiled again.
Goodbye quiet one,
ashes for the earth you loved,
a hurt upon my soul.
