To My Husband Gone But Not Forgotten

Underneath the earth you lie Unable to see Bay Area fog nor sky. Forty full years undergound, Unable to hear any sound? Or see a smile? You loved life with a passion! And such an adventurous soul, my dear husband, you. You brought mirth wherever you went. Spreading your soul's glittering confetti! You dreamt more than most men ever do, Far exceeding "making it in the world." I, your wife, has far out written and outlived you. The famous author, you longed to be. How terribly sad, such irony. You left this earth four decades ago.     And those of us who knew you~ We all loved you so! After all, you were our beloved amigo! You remain forever inscribed on my soul. And as for our adventurous life together, "Il mio, uomo!" Panagiota Romios 3/26/2019

So sad, so sad. My husband of 56 years is still with me and I do not allow myself to feature thoughts of him not being beside me. I will cross that bridge when and if I have to. Your poem, however, was beautiful.

Good he is still with you. No sense in worrying about the future! I was engaged three times after he left the planet, but chose not to re-marry. I don't feel sad, Janet! He would never had wanted me to be. Panagiota. xxx

Yes, Jenny I do remember. Especially when I first saw him. I said to myself, this is the man I will marry. Wow. And so it was, a year later. We eloped in a Chicago bizzaerd and drove to the West Coast. What an adventure! Poetry hugs, Panagiota

Panagiota, oh this touched my heart, the years mean nothing for death cannot destroy love, and I can feel the love in your words. I have lost a husband too, so I know the pain in your heart.
