To My Future Wife

I think back to the day I wrote this song
Remembering all of the things I’ve done wrong
But always wishing for this day to come
Longing to be somewhere that I truly belong

I knew that everything that I’ve gone through
Was a journey which was leading me to you
All the mistakes I’ve made
Just made me wiser
All the heartbreaks I’ve survived
Just made me stronger
In the end God’s plan did come true
Because now I’m with the beautiful you

I think back to the day I wrote this song
I had the ideas of you running through my mind
I thought about you all the time
Even if you’re not what the 20 year old me thought you’d be 
I know that you are so much greater then I could ever dream

I want you to know this as true
Through thick and thin I’ll always stand by you
I promise to love you with all that I am
I will always be your biggest fan

We will be best friends until the end
I will do all that I can to make your brokenness mend
I’m gonna strive to be a Godly man
And keep our relationship aligned with God’s plan

I think back to the day I wrote this song
I felt like I needed this all to come right now
I longed for my will to come before God’s will
But that’s not an answer I was able to steal

I promise you that I will do all that I can
To strive to be the perfect man
I know I’ll always fail in my hideous sinful mask
But with God there is no impossible task

So until the day where we can finally meet
I will dream of you every night when I sleep
Think of the beautiful nights that we’ll walk hand in hand
Together wishing we could travel through a foreign land
The romantic nights will always be a dream come true
I’ll fight off the whole world if I could spend one more night with you
I long to finally be your prince charming
And that one day you will call me your darling
