To My Friend

I don’t know whether you’d care for this, or not.
My eyes cloud with the memories you made,
How you crept into my soul and brightened my day.
Do you remember, the very first day:
When we looked at each other and smiled?
You have changed me completely,
I don’t know how, but you have.
Throughout all those days, you have managed to
Change my mind, to think ‘bout you.
To think for you.
To think like you.
But still, things cannot be changed. It’s up to you.
If you don’t like the idea being ‘my love’,
I don’t think there’s anything I could do ‘bout.

Except –
I guess we’ll go back to where we started.
If love doesn’t,
At least friendship will sustain.
