To my drug of choice, thank you!

The way I feel for you was so real 
You made the pain a little less to feel

The way you numbed all the bad things 
it was like getting relief from 100 bee stings

i surely thought you would be there threw it all
but as soon as i start to lean on you, you didnt catch my fall

i remember thinking i could hide you well, 
until you reached for my soul, they were all sure
to tell

i gave so many things up for you 
and was willing to risk my life too. 

but after years i finally caught on to
nothing but pain, i decided to
give you up of course thats the only
thing thats made my mind a bit sane

i just wanted to say thank you,  
you may have taken a year or
2 maybe even more than a few, 
but all thanks to what you put me threw 
i get to come out and be brand new
