To My Beautiful Valentine
That time of year is here again,
When we say to one another.
I'm happy that you're here,
and I'm glad that you're my lover.
Cupid did a fine job
Bringing us together,
If I had done the job for him
I couldn't have done it better.
This time we have spent together
Was as good as it ever gets,
and even in stormy weather
we never called it quits.
We stayed there through the good times,
and got stronger through the bad.
We helped each other make it through,
and for this I'm really glad.
So when you see this Valentine,
you'll know it's not just a card.
It's there to strengthen a relationship,
that we work at very hard.
The words still say I love you.
It still has a big red heart.
A pretty verse for you to read,
but you know there's a better part
It's down here at the bottom,
where the verse comes to an end.
It's the hugs and kisses beside my name,
that say I love you once again.
