To Maria, From Red, With Love

Honey glazed eyes ,
perfumed with pristine Love,
bears the burden of an ancient truth
HER heart is the melting point ;
the passage leading to secret doors
Yet to be unlocked...
The canvas of HER mind
is embedded with vibrant thoughts
streaming like incandescent dreams,
She silently enchants her admirers with
her wisdom and versatility
Yet.....
Beneath the mascara ridden eyes ,
reclines a dormant rage as
Years of isolation had
turned this marvel into stone
Ravaged by the callousness
Of time , she finds solace in
nothing more than herself

This is beautiful. Solace of isolation is evil personified. May joy and love and tenderness awake in the new days sun.

I know this was constructed within the parameters of "Free Verse" but with a little tweaking I think this prose of yours could have even more impact as rhyming poetry. Powerful and heady stuff, Red - An undoubted seven! My best regards. :) john

Eloquent descriptions of a lady that has more going on behind the eyes that she is letting on. It is a matter of perspective on who has the key to these secret doors you speak of. Awesome writing skills that aims to probe deeper ... I don't know Maria but she sounds like an interesting person.

Beautifully written Red. For some of us, reaching out to others is a gamble. Like gambling losing is the most common outcome but the little payouts here and there keep us going until maybe we hit the jackpot.

I read this earlier but wasn't able to comment...sometimes the isolation is too much...gradually bring her into the light...wash away the layers built up...bring her back to HER...loved it

So pleased to find this new post today, Red:) This poem is beautiful and is written from the heart, about a person who you are very close to and know well. I only know Maria from her photos...she is pretty, with a lovely smile behind which mystery appears to be hidden. This poem makes us want to know more....hugs // paul
