To Know You Can Trust

Finally, I can see this sparkle in your eyes
I shall never test or question your faith
You criticize me
You cheer me up
You are open eyes and ears
Just the two of us
You give me all the praise
You bring me laughter, when I am down
You bring me news and juicy gossip
I do not know how but we are inseparable
All along the way, this earth and moon
Shall never change us
Together, we are spirits
We sit at heaven's table,
Like two wooden spoons
Exposed to God’s light
Still, together we may see
Like salt & pepper shakers
In life, you work things out
That is what friends are for
Lord, you give us this power
To know you can trust
