To Have and Hold

To Have and Hold I may not have much money or a house At times I feel I am poor as a mouse But I am glad I made my faithful vows I am so blessed to have a loving spouse She shows her love as though I am a king And yields her heart just like an endless spring For when the morning birds began to sing I feel as though I can do anything And every time I hold her in my arms That I become obsessed with all her charms T'is then my cold and lonely heart she warms And in those moments free from all alarms That which I have, I give for you to hold While walking hand in hand, till we grow old I’d rather be with you through years untold Than sigh and weep alone, with tears of gold My God who gave me you to have and hold Gives love eternal and grace manifold
