To Grasp a Poets Heart

To Grasp a Poets Heart A Walk in The Forest 2 ( hope you don’t mind Michael ) To express the inexpressible A poet dreams Of such To capture by turn of word The intrigue of Emotive import And spin from the vague A captured replenishment To grasp a poets heart The burning lines of stone Chiselled from reality With blood and sweat and tears The crystalline lines of stone Etched from life With joy and beauty and blood These open moments Resound In their keeping of their faith To paint so the adornments In living voices Of other worlds And different eyes To grasp a poets heart How courageous To stand upon the pages of your soul Written profound Written whimsical Written by injustice Written with care Written in the outpourings Of simply being Human Who then should take up your brush And if to turn such by critiques discourse And alter the strokes made by Rembrandt Scratch out the rhymes of Dylan and Cohen The beat of Marley The photo of Cyndi The essence of Joni The drive of Eminem The mark of flowering genius Where ever they began To grasp a poets heart History alone will record your greatness my friends

Inspirational and passionate. The flow to this piece is remarkable and the vibrancy of the poem is spectacular. Comparing the genius of so many types of artists as they share in creativity of self is so well written. Well done.

Steve is right, your words are never trivial. They may contain what so many of us feel inside, but the way you write, you give gift to our thoughts. You decorate our emotions and ideas with dignity and purpose, so uniquely, it stands out, above and beyond many. This touches the heart and soul of every poet. This is truly a masterpiece, whether I've said this before or not. I guess most of your work, if not all, is absolutely that brilliant. Love, Shar

Your words are never trivial Sir Colin...whatta profound bit of writing!! You went from Rembrandt to Eminem...thats a progression you will rarely see, I love it! Im a big underground hip hop aficianado myself...I highly recommend you check out an Artist by the name of Sage Francis. His lyrics are some of the best poetry you'll ever come across...you can find quite a bit on YouTube. Check it out! Right on, Write on!! Steve
