To Give

TO GIVE At birth I was simply a noun Later I became the verb “to be” and still later the verb “to do” As my arrogance matured, I began to say “I am the one who is!” As my skills matured, I began to say “I am the one who is here for you!” As my soul matured, I began to say “ I am here to contribute what I can!” With the budding of wisdom beyond middle age, I offer to “…..give what I am when I can!” When I am time-worn and tired, and my body and mind become just slow enough to delay or to get in your way, I’ll say “I know of another who can help!” When body and mind, spirit and soul decide to be silent and still, I hope others will say to any who will listen that “He gave everything that he could!”
