To Flicker and Burn Out
I had to flicker like a bengal light,
to feel as jolly and as cold
first snowflake setting on the nose
to melt...
Once stars have vanished from our sights,
what mattered was not quality of clouds,
but weight of doubts
has kept us safe enslaved
and promptly
burning out.
