To Faceless

5-26-14

You have tied my hands together
Around the beam, behind my back
I cannot escape
I beg to be saved from this fate
You are the only one to hear my screams
I lost hope when you struck the match
There was no going back
All you want is for me to say your name
The flesh is dripping down my skin
Muscles flaming, searing
Charred, but I cannot cave in
I cannot let you win again
If this is what I must succumb to
If this is the only destiny I behold
So be it
Let my story be left untold
You will not win again
Your false smile convinced me once that you were my friend
But it is you that must change!
You are the empty one
Show your face
Lest you be blinded by my sacrifice and the light of the sun
Pull down the hood and reconsider
Your choice of words, let's not be so bitter
You knew this was coming
You knew you would lose
Fight me or go quietly
I permit you to choose
