To Everybody Out There
To everybody out there
To friends I have and haven’t met
I hope that our encounter
Does not fill you with regret
I hope you leave my presence
With good thoughts in your head
And that you’ll still be smiling
As you lay down in your bed
I hope our meeting brings you
A joy that’s rare to find
And a sense of hope for others
Who from material things are blind
I hope you’ll see an inner peace
That can’t be bought with gold
Reflected on my smiling face
When I my dear family hold
If our meeting made you happy
And maybe you’ve laughed out loud
This is the elusive silver lining
That’s behind every dark cloud
