To Drift At Sea

For castaways, I write these lines
                 those lost on islands unobserved
they’ve crossed uncharted waters still
well past the age of valued grace

Though wise beyond the ken of most
the wrinkles of a time worn shell
have duped a callow, modern world
                   to disregard such vibrant jewels

As such, to be invisible
and tossed away to drift at sea
when one should heed their every word
to guide the same impending course

I sometimes think those stuck on deserted islands are perhaps better off. Providing of course that they have a companion.
