Note: My last poem for 2018 was dark and tragic. Here my first poem of 2019,
tho' sad, expresses recollections of a beautiful memory of my youth and
the afterthoughts of mistakes made and written verses of hope of forgiveness
from a truly beautiful, kind and remarkably gentle soul, that I once loved.
I hope you may see the depths of regret one feels when they fully comprehend
a fantastic treasure was by wild and youthful folly thus lost.
To Dream This, Love Forgives, When I Call Out Her Name
Your kiss, its memory ambrosia for this lonesome heart
you I so miss, these many decades we have been apart
Your sexy eyes, sent passionate waves into wanting soul
yes we said our goodbyes, but these years alone took a toll
Your grace and beautiful mind, perhaps I miss all the more
time has been unkind, my sorrow was in closing that door!
Pray I, your huge heart forgave, that raving fool I became
and your mercy save, as I now utter your lovely name
Our last dance, sweetest of nights, before our love fell apart
lost romance, greatest tragedy was my breaking your heart
This mercy I beg now, will renew this sad, weak spirit
when I cry your name, if you cry out mine, I will hear it!
