To Distant Shores
To distance shores I went one time.
What memories I have! They are
among my best, but these days I’m
not prone to ever travel far!
Oh, where have all the decades gone?
To distant shores a long long time
ago, I went and set foot on
three continents! It was sublime.
And then where I saw monkeys climb
and people worshiping sun’s rays,
to distant shores another time
I went to spend such happy days!
Such travels I must now forego,
but I recall them in my rhyme
and make a wish that I might go
to distant shores just one more time!
