To Be Young

Running in the yard
Splashing in a pool
Squishing mud with toes
Dashing here and there
Playing everywhere.

Dad picked you up
Mom kissed the hurts
Sis hugged your neck
Bub mussed your hair
They loved you much.

What it was
to be young,
Full of life.

No cares,
No strife,

Free.
