Notes About The Poem

To Be Or Not To Be

I looked like plump Mrs. Potato Head before
Then I started dancing around the room
Then I danced around the large ballroom floor
Discarding my broom, I began to bloom

Then I started dancing around the room
My youthful figure began a sweet bud
Discarding my broom, I began to bloom
No longer was I a rustic fat spud

My youthful figure began a sweet bud
Then I danced around the large ballroom floor
No longer was I a rustic fat spud
I looked like plump Mrs. Potato Head before

I did check this on syllable counter and this is what I got so that is the reason I did not correct it.

Sara, wonderfully done! Had to smile as your "youthful" figure returned through dancing - true happy feet! What a great, happy, way to stay in shape - a great solution! Congrats and kudos. Keep dancing! Blessings.

Came to this beauty, Sara, I loved it when I read it, but it was only suppose to 10 syllable count per line. Hugs Eve

Eve, Thanks for dropping by. I suppose you are letting me know that I did not place so thank you. I checked the syllables but I guess I missed something. I can blame it on age or senior moments. Sara

Our grandson has started as he means to go on. The moment music is turned on he is up dancing or prancing. He is two and a half. If we could all dance our way through life and maybe sing as well? At least poetry keeps our fingers nimble. Take care David in NZ

David, I do enjoy seeing those little ones enjoy music dancing their own design. They are so precious and the years are so short when they are young. I think feeling the music be it dancing or just moving while seated lifts our spirits to a higher level. Thanks for dropping by. Sara

Kim, Yes, maybe I could do that if I danced around the ballroom floor with a nice young man who is teaching me to dance. Thanks for your visit. Sara
