To Be Human

What does it mean, to be a human being.
It's not just what you do, or what your seeing,
It's how you feel about life and what's in it,
It's what you learn within a year, or minute,

Human animals are different from the rest,
We call ourselves superior, the best,
But it is not our brains that make us so
It's what is in our hearts and what we know,

It's spirit and belief in what is just,
It's showing faith, emotion, love and trust,
It's behaving in a way that's all our own,
It's re-sowing seeds the lord our god has sown
