To Be Followed 1

On the rounded shells,
Under the arches of the stars,
On the children’s toys,
I’m looking for it,

On the deserts crossed,
On the waves without fear,
In the smiling gardens,
I’m looking for it,

In the shared silences,
Under the dancing flags,
In the dreams of birds,
I’m looking for it,

In the villages and their bell towers,
On the caresses of the hills,
In rhymes and emeralds,
I’m looking for it,

( to be continued)

Sur les coquillages arrondis,
Sous les arcs des étoiles,
Sur les jouets des enfants,
Je le cherche,

Sur les déserts traversés,
Sur les vagues sans peur,
Dans les jardins souriants,
Je le cherche,

Dans les silences partagés,
Sous les drapeaux dansants,
Dans les rêves des oiseaux,
Je le cherche,

Dans les villages et leurs clochers,
Sur les caresses des coteaux,
Dans les rimes et les émeraudes,
Je le cherche,

I didn't make the Éluard connection yann, but thank you for letting me know this. I will reread your five poems in this series with that in mind
