To a Snail
I’m so sorry snail,
You work hard to live along your daily trail.
Either stepped on and damaged
Kicked away and savaged.
Only to be thrown off path,
Get away you pest is said with wrath.
Yet without haste,
You continue on your trail with no waste.
One goal in mind,
Not to cause trouble but food to find.
You carry your home,
Popping in and out for nourishment you comb.
Feelers out as close to distance stole,
Eventually achieving your life’s goal.
Only to be lifted up with the food,
And thrown off path this is not good.
Maybe one day,
Someone will say.
You deserve your space,
And then on earth you will have your own place.
