To a Morning Coffee

I kick start my day's routine, with sizzling cup of coffee. As I wake from sleep, yawning, you reach me as my buddy. With your aromatic touch, you enliven my senses. With your kiss, you burn my lips.

Kissed lips are memorable, burnt lips are unforgettable, in a bad way—Nat King Cole, made that word memorable, Aloha.

Awesome. Even though I don't drink it, I appreciate your great description of it.

It sounds like a lovely way to start a morning, except for the burned lips. I enjoy your poem. Good luck with the contest.

Morning coffee seems delightful except for burning the lips.
