To a Fool

I underestimated the search
and came out a fool
I trekked through the lowest valleys
and with shadows as my fuel
I looked for answers everywhere
and everywhere found ghouls
I searched for this thing you call love
and all I found was cruel

Wow, what a profound poem. I especially liked the fourth verse "with shadows as my fuel" perhaps you can illuminate this for me further when you get time. what I got from it was: in the search for love no concrete love was found only formless shadows that moved along the ground i.e. the shadows were the fuel but leading to nowhere. Beautiful, Excellently written piece. You might want to have this critiqued to polish it up a bit. Excellent work

Thanks for the awesome feedback. You're spot on with your interpretation. The shadows refer to glimpses of love I encounter that have no substance. It's the shadows that lead me to the light obstructor.
