Tired is My State of Mind

When waking up feels just as hard as trying to sleep you wonder where the irony is
Maybe if you could think straight you would see it
But the lack of sleep keeps the full colours of life at bay
A monotone world like an old black and white movie… but they’re seen as romantic right
If only this could feel that way
Instead it is a daily struggle between thoughts you should be having and those that just love to be there
No benefit at all; just a dull nagging
You’d think with all the hours you’re awake you might be able to be productive
Maybe that’s the irony agin.
What happens when your waking world turns to sleep
Like a snowflake trying to make it to ground in a hurricane
A constant battle against losing, knowing the inevitability of what’s to come
Tired of being awake but exhausted with the effort of trying to fall asleep
