Tiny Dancers

Tiny Dancers

Special child, curly hair and dove grey eyes
Watches in wonder from his lonely place
Floating polka dots glide on the breeze
Translucent circles ride into space.

Tiny dancers in the air
You follow their flight - their pace
As wistful wishes tickle the clouds
Rising joy - not erased.

Your hands reach out for perfect circles
Shimmering rainbows of grace
As they zig zag in the air
In a happy childhood chase.

The faintest smile starts to dawn
Upon your solemn face
And from a source deep and still
Laughter your heart can now embrace.

Like sunshine break through the gloom
Bubbles you here give chase
To fantasies of floating spheres
As your first smile we embrace.

Truly a cavalcade of image and movement... Seems that you doubled Elton John's original vision-version here. Kudos, Gershon

Thank you so much Vijay! This poem is very special to me as it describes our special needs grandchild experiencing the wonder of bubbles. Such a simple childhood pleasure brought him so much joy. I am so grateful for your beautiful compliment! That brought me such joy. Sending you blessings to joy - and maybe some bubbles!

Thank you so much Eve not only for your placement but for the inspirational picture as the basic theme for this poem. I have such vivid memories of our grandchild with autism playing with bubbles, his smile and his delight! Just makes my heart happy. Sending you blessings and a hug!

Proud of myself, I knew from the first 2 stanzas. I knew you were describing bubbles. "Floating polks dots glide into the breeze" is one of my favorite lines. What a great way to describe a bubble, one of my favorite lines in your poem. Don't children love them! In my 50's I do too!!!

Hi Marikate! Thank you so much. Loved your message. So glad I wasn't too obtuse! I'm with you when it comes to loving bubbles! They are truly magical! I guess both of us are really just little kids at heart - definitely a good thing! Thanks for sharing this moment of delight with me! Here's to bubbles of all sizes! Blessings!
