Timing

I’ve created a void that
I somehow can’t fill.
Distancing myself from love
Of my own free will.
With the best of intentions
And a thoughtful life plan
I jumped into this new year
Ready to finish what I can.
Scheduling tactics for my
Classes weren’t there
Leaving no holes in my
Week for those who needed care.
My job days are filled
With both full and part-time
The hours left open for us
Are rare and quite prime.
I know you say you
Understand when I go.
But I can’t help but feel
I have let you down so.
I promise I’ll finish with
These classes, these two,
Then all those days will
Be for us, just me and you.
