Times past

I walked this life alone
So much I have grown
Trying hard to be true
In all the things I do
Love passes by
No need to cry
Why bother to try
I spent some time in the past
Wishing I could make something that would last
Was looking out over the stars
While still bandaging my own scars
Hopefully I kept my pride
When all I wanted to do was hide
Struggle to face each day
I'm finding my own way
To find my way back here
Where the stars seem to be so near
Stepping away from my fear
Lost to a tear
Maybe I'm just another day older
But the path has become colder
Who knows where time will end
What counts is the times I did spend
With my back to the wind
Souls never bend
Reaching ever forwards
Towards
some distant time
Still lost in some rhyme
Tomorrow
I may beg and borrow
Reaching for my land of no sorrow
No money can buy
No tears that I can cry
Can hear no pleas
Only on bended knees
And all that he sees
Come inside
Forgive my pride
Clean my heart
For I wish a new start
Lift me ever higher
Save me from that inner fire
Busy loving you
My heart stays true
Guide what I must say
Lead me the right way
And strength to face the day
 And maybe some day soon
Although I carry no silver spoon
Let my every action
Reaction
Always be true
And always be guiding someone else to you
Something in the way you make me feel
A touch that can heal
A broken down heart
Fell apart
My heart is refound
By love I'm bound
Till you lift me from the cold ground.
To you I belong
Found after a lifetime so long
So wrong
Now so right
Help me show others into this light

             Amen

Hardship culminating in romance combine to finish with a happy ending. Thank you for these deep thoughts.
