Timeless Inspiration

Faded apron
torn pocket
stained
loosely tied around her
yellow cotton dress
tattered white slippers
mussed curls of black hair
shades of gray
hazel eyes hold me
fairy tale heart
bland smile
kind embrace
I stand captured
slithering aroma
lighted candle
prayers
Gods company
we devour
suddenly
a cold flame
I awaken
reality invades me
a marble wall stands in silence
bearing a single name
a faded pink rose
I memorize her face
timeless inspiration
