Time Wasted

Looking back, we've come so far,
that first day, not so long ago,
each of us hiding our emotions,
hesitant to let them show.
It was me who first said, "I love you."
My will power, lost in your eyes.
I could think of no other life
but in your arms.
No longer did I feel alone,
isolated in my fears.
If I'd only known sooner
of how you felt.
This unexplored love would have been so easy.
How much time I wasted before you.
It's hard not to wish,
it'd been you from the start.

a very beautiful piece of poetry, straight from the heart.
