The night air is crisp and cool,
moistened by my trickling tears.
For; I'm alone with my fears,
left waiting here like a fool.
Her lies lured me here tonight,
using her persuasive voice.
And she left me little choice,
I didn't want to start a fight.
She used every trick she knew,
starting off with sexy talk.
And had me ignore the clock,
hinting my dreams could come true.
Anxiety-fueled thoughts
run the gauntlet of my mind.
For; she is not always kind,
tying my heart into knots.
I have a thirst I can't quench,
and a belly full of pain.
But, here I wait once again,
sitting on a cold park bench.
I spy the first flakes of snow,
starting to tumble and fall.
And there's little chance she'll call,
so; I guess it's time to go.
