Time Out

Time Out! Although verbal tones may not break our bones, heated threats from those sitting on kingly thrones can swiftly get out of control like the flames of Rome. Disharmony also hurts and can easily turn our hearts to stone. One needs to beware the extent to which our tongues roam. Let each one be willing to apologize, and turn from the wrong. Time out! Communication please! There are ways we can get along. Time out! Conversation please! Let's labor to be kind and strong. One flip of a switch or touch of a button; and we're all gone! It makes no sense; there is no defense; fires wont quench. There is still hope for peace, even if the future looks dense. Think up; get up; speak up; straighten up, and get off the fence. Why must we go on with lives filled with hate, guns, and wars? Who's right or wrong matters little if we all burn like falling stars. 04272017 PS; May Premier Contest, Brian Strand

I am with you on this one. I pray for peace and love every Sunday. Wouldn't our world be so much wonderful if we all just get along and love one another? Wishful thinking of course. Well this poem is full of great messages and I love it :)
