Time - It's All We Had

Loneliness slips in around my stride,
 alone walking without you by my side;
the days take their time to hide
 of passing in a languishing pride.

How fast paced the years moved by
 and in our hurry we forget to cry
at the magic and the lie
 of the age, the sea, the sun, the sky.

In the twilight moments
 comes the torment
of time ending its journey torrent
 and the reality abhorrent.

All we had was time
 and so quickly we are beyond our prime
lost in life's memories once sublime
 disappearing in the wine.
