Time Is Our Treasure
She took a seat and began to play
Piano sounds through the air of May
Resonating with careful jubilation
This daughter of mine is young and strong
She's gifted with the breadth of song
And as I listen I notice with elation
Time is our Treasure
Time is our Treasure
Time is our Treasure
It lets us bridge the young and old
It gives us stories to be told
It strengthens who we are
And lets us imprint our lives on others
Time is our Treasure
Behind her stands a man of age
Same blood as her from an ancient age
He's listening with utmost admiration
This father of mine is mature and meek
And it's his wisdom that we seek
He gives us our needed inspiration.
Time is our Treasure
Time is our Treasure
Time is our Treasure
It lets us bridge the young and old
It gives us stories to be told
It strengthens who we are
And lets us imprint our lives on others
Time is our Treasure
She got off the stool and turned around
Looked up at him and he looked down
Exchanging generational expressions
She smiled at him as he looked proud
He embraced her as he knew how
And from all of this I learned an important lesson
Time is our Treasure
Time is our Treasure
Time is our Treasure
It lets us bridge the young and old
It gives us stories to be told
It strengthens who we are
And lets us imprint our lives on others
Time is our Treasure
[Piano Solo (by young girl)]
Time is our Treasure
Time is our Treasure
Time is our Treasure
