Time is not always energy 28-12-25

It's disgusting when effort is measured in minutes,
when dedication is weighed by the clock’s thin hand,
when productivity ticks instead of breathes.

“I’ll work for exactly thirty,” they say,
“and I’ll rest for fifteen.”
As if creation obeys stopwatches,
as if ideas clock in and out.

Deadlines become the task.
Seconds twitch like nervous fingers.
The mind counts instead of builds,
watches instead of works.

We forget why we began-
so focused to finish on time,
that our task is reduced
to the frequent glances of our phone.

Time is the foremost card we are dealt.
Not to hoard.
Not to count.
But to play with purpose.
