Time Is Gone

years and minutes
seconds and days
through the hour glass
they flow
time never stopping
each grain of sand
holds memories
of childhood days
beautiful dreams
a mothers love
now they sit at the bottom
their rough edges ground down
by the smooth walls of the timer
by the smooth walls of life
time is trapped by life
while life is remembered through time
but now life is changing
and time is gone
stuck at the bottom of my old life
while new sand falls
burying the old,
leaving it to be ground and forgotten
as life goes on
while time's left behind
