Time Is A Thief

“We should do this more often!”
But we won’t.
Pals too busy to meet up.
Group chats gone quiet.
Friendships gone cold.

Six-pack faded away.
Wrinkles crawled their way onto my flesh.
Energy and enthusiasm waning.
Unexpected funerals of those who gave up.
Years gone by like smoke escaping through a cracked window.
