Time Has Endless Patience

Time has endless Patience
There from the start
There too, 'twill be, at the end
  when all else departs

Time's a humbler of Empires
Outlasts them all
Watches monuments crumble
  no matter how solid
  no matter how tall

The glory that was Greece
The grandeur that was Rome
  In Time's rear-view mirror now
  Majesty become soil's loam

Time is dispassionate
It goes its own way --
Yet it's ours to utilize for the good
  ~ every moment, every day

G'day Gershon … time is one of the few things that is truly ours so it is up to us if we waste it or not, so whatever happens we cannot hold up time - thank you Gershon, I enjoyed this poem - Lindsay

Just think, Lindsay: if we hold up time, then we are robbing ourselves of precious time. Sounds like biting off your nose to spite your face, eh?! :) gw

We have to make every second count because we never get any lost second back. Tom

No losing any seconds! I make sure not to lose any seconds at the dinner table! LOL. Thanks, Tom. ~ Gershon

That's the ticket. As Jagger sang, 'Time is on my/our side!' ~ gw
